Tell us about your role at Clever Ghost
At Clever Ghost, I helped put designs together and worked on general smaller jobs as well as coming up with and developing concepts for the larger branding projects.
How have you found your time at Clever Ghost?
I've loved every minute at Clever Ghost it's been such a positive experience and I've learnt so much. Everyone has been so welcoming and made every day a blast, I've loved the agency dynamic and so enjoyed working as part of a team.
What are the benefits of being on a placement?
Being on a placement has given me invaluable experience of what it's like to work in a design agency day to day. Understanding how jobs are managed from start to finish has been so insightful, and seeing the process of projects both big and small being rolled out has really helped my design process.
What are the best & worst things about your placement?
The best parts have been being in such great company with Danni, Paul, Katherine and Mr. Chew. I’ve loved having the chance to have creative input as well as working on such a wide variety of projects which has given me a chance to really develop my skills and get used to a new pace of working. The worst bit is saying goodbye to Chewie!
Any favourite projects?
My favourite things to work on have been the branding projects. It’s been great to be a part of the initial development and have creative freedom, all the way through to seeing your ideas fleshed out and ready to present to clients.
How have your skills developed?
My technical skills in Illustrator and InDesign have definitely improved. I’ve also learnt so much about how to develop and present concepts, as well as working as part of a team and talking through ideas.
Any advice for students thinking about doing a placement?
I would definitely recommend a placement as it is a great chance to gain experience that isn't possible in a classroom. It's great to be around people you can learn from and see how things work from a different perspective.
What does the next chapter hold in store?
I’m excited to continue learning and designing and see where graphic design takes me next!
